Detailed Tour Itinerary

Day 0: Friday Night - Departure from Bangalore

  • 10:00 PM - 11:00 PM: Assemble at a designated pick-up point in Bangalore.

  • 10:00 PM: Depart from Bangalore. The journey to Bandipur will take approximately 4-5 hours. You'll travel through Mysore and Gundlupet. The forest checkpost at Bandipur closes at 9 PM and reopens at 6 AM, so your journey through the forest stretch will be during the early morning hours, offering a chance for wildlife spotting.

  • Overnight Journey: Comfortable overnight travel in a pre-arranged vehicle (e.g., tempo traveller, mini-bus).

Day 1: Saturday - Bandipur Safari & Ooty Scenic Drive

  • 5:00 AM - 6:00 AM: Arrive at Bandipur National Park. This is an ideal time for a morning safari as animals are most active.

  • 6:15 AM - 7:45 AM (approx.): Bandipur Safari: Experience a thrilling Bus/Canter Safari (Jeep safaris are also available but need prior booking and are more expensive) through Bandipur National Park. Keep an eye out for elephants, deer, peacocks, and if you're lucky, tigers or leopards!

  • Note: Safari timings and availability can vary. It's highly recommended to book your safari tickets online in advance to avoid disappointment, especially on weekends. Entry fee for Indians for bus safari is around INR 850-950 per seat.

  • 8:00 AM - 9:00 AM: Breakfast near Bandipur/Mudumalai.

  • 9:30 AM: Depart for Ooty via Gudalur.

  • 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM: Arrive in Ooty. Check into your hotel/resort.

  • 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM: Lunch.

  • 2:30 PM - 6:30 PM: Ooty Local Sightseeing (Pykara Area):

  • Pykara Lake & Boathouse: Enjoy a serene boat ride on the beautiful Pykara Lake.

  • Pykara Falls: Witness the cascading Pykara Falls (views may vary depending on water levels).

  • Pine Forest: Take a leisurely stroll and capture some amazing photos amidst the tall pine trees.

  • Wenlock Downs / 9th Mile: Enjoy the vast, picturesque grasslands, a popular shooting spot.

  • 7:00 PM onwards: Return to the hotel. Free time for relaxation or exploring Ooty's market area (Charring Cross) for local chocolates, tea, and handicrafts.

  • Dinner & Overnight Stay: Enjoy dinner and a comfortable overnight stay in Ooty.

Day 2: Sunday - Ooty Highlights & Return Journey

  • 8:00 AM - 9:00 AM: Breakfast at the hotel.

  • 9:30 AM - 2:00 PM: Ooty Main Attractions:

  • Doddabetta Peak: Visit the highest point in the Nilgiris for breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding valleys.

  • Tea Factory & Museum: Learn about the tea-making process and sample some fresh Nilgiri tea. There's often a chocolate factory nearby where you can buy homemade chocolates.

  • Ooty Botanical Gardens: Explore the sprawling and beautifully maintained botanical gardens, home to a wide variety of exotic plants and flowers.

  • Ooty Rose Garden: Admire the vast collection of roses (seasonal).

  • 2:00 PM - 3:00 PM: Lunch in Ooty.

  • 3:30 PM: Check out from the hotel and begin your return journey to Bangalore.

  • 3:30 PM - 9:00 PM (approx.): Drive back towards Bangalore via the same route (Mudumalai/Bandipur). The forest stretch will be crossed before the night closure (9 PM).

  • 9:00 PM onwards: Arrive in Bangalore and drop off at designated points.

What's next after booking your trip?​

If the trip is confirmed

  • A Whatsapp group shall be created on the trip day and Vehicle & Trip Leader details will be shared.

  • Live location of the vehicle will be sent in the group once it starts at the first point.

What if trip is still not confirmed because of less than 8 people signed up?

  • Our Booking Team will try to make the trip confirmed till the afternoon of trip day (usually Fridays).

  • If the trip is not confirmed by then, we will give other confirmed & available trip options.

  • Guests may either choose one of the available trips or opt for full refund.

Terms & Conditions

  • The itinerary is fixed. No special requests to change itinerary/schedule shall be entertained. Do not give advice(s) to the Trip Leader(s) to change the itinerary.

  • Cooperate with the organizer(s) in following the schedule set for the day (especially getting up and getting ready in the morning). This will ensure travelers won’t miss out on the real fun part that is traveling.

  • Every traveler is responsible for his/her for your own safety. Don’t indulge in any illegal or silly activity that causes harm to you or fellow travelers.

  • Do not wander into the forest away from the designated trail for treks. There may be snakes, scorpions, and dangerous animals.

  • Unexpected situations: It may happen we do not cover all the places mentioned in the itinerary because of unpredictable reasons like bad weather, landslides, wild animal presence, abrupt blocking of sites by the police/forest department, delay in travel because of an issue with our group itself, traffic conditions, etc. In most cases, if the time permits, the organizer(s) will take travelers to an alternative place. But in some cases, we may have to skip a place altogether.

  • Absolutely no littering. We swear to protect our environment.

  • No alcohol & smoking during travel, treks, and other outdoor activities. There would be a separate window and space (usually at night) to have these at the stay for interested people.

  • Travelers are expected to respect each other and help each other. Avoid discussing sensitive matters like sex, politics, and religion/caste/race.

  • Using foul or abusive language, eve-teasing, arguing with fellow travelers/organizer(s), and/or involving in the physical assault will not be accepted and will stand a chance of being deserted by the group then and there.

  • The event will be canceled if fewer than 8 travelers sign up. Participants will be informed at least 24 hours before the trip start time.

  • Every traveler is expected to sign a liability/waiver form given by the organizer(s) after boarding the vehicle. This liability form will discharge Muddie Trails of any unexpected incident like injury/death/theft etc.

Cancellation Policy

Cancellation by Traveler​

  • 80% refund/100% postponement if you inform about your cancellation before 48 hours of the event start time. An email has to be sent to mail@smttravelsolutions.com or whatsapp to +919344648244 to raise a cancellation request.

  • No refund/postponing is allowed within 48 hours of the event start time whatever is the reason (Health, Accident, Covid, Family crisis, Office issue, or anything else).

  • No refund/postponing is allowed even if you booked within 48 hours.

  • Alternatively, you may postpone your ticket to the future event 48 hours before the event start time. (Allowed once per booking ONLY)

  • No refund/postponing is allowed for partial payment – booking fee – which is done to book your slot.

  • No refund during/after the event.

Cancellation by SMT Travel Solutions​

SMT Travel Solutions may decide to cancel the event if there are less than 8 travelers signed up for the trip/trek.

What if we don’t get the minimum number of people for the trip?
We have 2 options in this case:

  1. Complete refund.

  2. Option 2: Switch to any other trip of the same weekend or future weekends. The difference amount will be collected from you or paid back according to the new trip cost.

Cancellation due to external factors

SMT Travel Solutions may have to cancel the event in case of external factors that are beyond our control like Natural Disasters, Extreme Weather Conditions, Red Alerts, Political Disturbances, Bandh/Curfews, Local Issues, Road Blocks, Train cancellations, Covid-19 or any other disease outbreaks etc.

In these scenarios:

  • No Refund is allowed.

  • 100% trip amount can be used for any other new trip of the same weekend or future weekends. The difference amount will be collected from you or paid back according to the new trip cost.

  • Once you confirm your participation on the new trip, all the above Cancellation policies will apply for the same.
